Question:  Am I limited on how long I can lease a storage unit?

Answer:  Normal lease periods are for one month at a time (30 to 31 days).  For period less than one month, certain criteria must be met.  We do not allow trash or low value items to be stored for less than a month.

Question: Do I have to pay for a whole month if I need the space for a partial ?

Answer:  We will prorate the rent for the month you move our if you give at least a 10 day notice to vacate.

Question:  Are my stored items insured?

Answer:  Check with your insurance home owner’s or renter’s insurance company to see if they will cover your for any loss.  Since we lease space to you that is under your care and control, our insurance company will not allow us to cover your stored items.  We do have insurance available through a third party who specializes in self storage tenant insurance.  We will give you a brochure on how to contact them and what they provide as well as their prices. You will deal directly with them.

Question:  Am I covered for water damage?

Answer:  Since we do not have access to your unit, we have no way of knowing if you have water damage or not thus you will not be covered by our insurance. The tenant is responsible for checking their unit on a regular basis for water damage.  Once a roof leak is reported, it should be reported to management immediately as it is our responsibility to repair reported leaks in a timely manner.  We will aid you anyway we can on a temporary basis to prevent future damage until the problem is corrected.  If we suspect a leak from our outside observation, you will be notified immediately to come and inspect your unit.

Question:  Does anyone other than myself have access to my unit.?

Answer:  Only the person who signs the Rental Agreement has control over who has access.  You may state in the Rental Agreement who you would like to have access.  The property management will gain access only in the case of an emergency. Certain government agencies have the right to enter your unit and we will allow them to cut your lock themselves in our presences.  Property management may by law under Chapter 59 of the Texas Property Code gain access to your unit once foreclosure (as stated in the Rental Agreement) procedures  have begun.
